Philippe I named Baron Philippe de Lavalette as Prince Regent in a sealed "political will" which was opened shortly after the Prince's demise on January 5, 2014.
Philippe de Lavalette is the godson of Prince Philippe of Aracuania and is the son of Baron Raoul de Lavalette, the Chancellor of the Royal House.
On January 9, 2014, following the funeral of Prince Philippe I, Baron Philippe de Lavalette presided over the Regency Council, when then elected Jean-Michel Parasiliti di Para, Duke of San Pedro de Hueyusco, and former President of the Council of the Kingdom, to be the new head of the Royal House of Araucania and Patagonia. That election ended the regency.
